 Nautilus Resort - Paihia Bay of Islands The Nautilus Resort / Motel is a luxury selection of accommodation apartments close to Waitangi on the edge of Paihia- the hub of the beautiful Bay of Islands in the Far North of New Zealand. Book your accommodation with us and you'll be at the heart of modern and historic Northland. The modern history of New Zealand began right here. The first European settlers landed just a stone’s throw from the Nautilus Resort. It’s just a short walk to the world famous Treaty grounds, where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840. Set in sub tropical gardens, fringed with palm trees and bordering the native bush covered hills, The Nautilus Resort is only 200 meters from the beautiful, sandy, Tii beach; a crescent of golden sand and sheltered, safe waters. Yet the Resort is only 1km from the centre of the village. Wild life is a-plenty here; Parakeets, Herons, Kingfishers, Plovers, Quails and many other birds are regularly seen in and around the Nautilus. Kiwis shout out at night with their distinctive call. If it is adventure and excitement you seek, look no farther than the Bay of Islands . Every conceivable activity is catered for from Paihia. From diving the Rainbow Warrior and the spectacular sub-tropical undersea world, to sailing, kayaking or flying above it; try quad-biking, trekking or parachuting. Take a more leisurely cruise around The Bay and watch the dolphins and whales. Visit the Northern most tip of New Zealand , Cape Reinga and be driven along 90 mile beach to get there. Whatever you desire can be found here in the winterless North, and where better to stay during your visit than in our spacious, luxurious and well appointed accommodation of apartments and studios. Our studio units sleep 2 or 3 guests: 2 studios have a super king size bed and a spa bathroom and 2 have a queen size and single beds with a shower room. All 4 studios have a kitchenette with fridge, microwave and electric fryer-suitable for making breakfasts. The 3rd option is our studio with cooking facilities, queen size bed and sofa bed with shower room. All are tastefully decorated and well equipped including TV and DVD player. 2 Bedroom Apartments All our apartments have 2 spacious bedrooms, a large lounge, kitchen and 5 have a large corner spa bathroom with shower over. 1 apartment has a walk in shower and is suitable for guests who have a disability All have either a terrace on to the pool side or a balcony over looking the pool. Your every need is catered for; from the Sony entertainment system-TV, DVD, CD, MP3, Mini disc- to the well equipped kitchen. Our bedrooms are configured with a superking size bed and twin singles, however, any combination of the 2 is possible. There is a sofa bed in the lounge for larger families. Superior Deluxe Apartment Our 2 bedroom deluxe apartment is all new this year. From the carpeting up it is all new, designed and fitted in ultra modern and comfortable taste, with the latest in curtain and bed spread designs. The 2 bedrooms have Superking size beds or twin singles or any combination of the 2. The large lounge features a unique dining table and chairs, chaise sofa, with sofa bed, and an oak finished writing desk. The Sony TV and DVD/CD/MP3/Mini disc entertainment unit sets off the modern style beautifully. The kitchen if fully equipped with designer crockery, cutlery and glasses. Copper bottomed pans make cooking easy. A corner spa bath (big enough for 2!) is the main feature in the spacious bathroom. Facilities You will be staying in the wonderful Bay of Islands, yet you may not even wish to leave the resort Our 16metre pool is surrounded by gardens, flowers and palm trees, and has sun loungers, BBQs and picnic tables. Next to the pool is our fabulous 84 jet spa pool, which has many different massaging programs, an aromatherapy cycle, and a built in CD/radio. Bring your favourite mood CD and let the jets and bubbles soothe and relax you. The kids are well catered for too. We have a kids play area with an adventure slide and swings and a trampoline to keep them fit (or to tire them out ) Tennis is always popular in sunny weather and the Far North has plenty of that Our tennis court nestles next to the bush and if you’re lucky, you may see parakeets watching from the trees The court, rackets and balls are all provided free of charge. The Nautilus boasts a spacious well-lit car park and can also park up to 15 boats and trailers. There is a wash down facility with fish prep area for you to prepare the fish you just caught for the BBQ by the pool There is a modern laundry on site with coin operated washer and drier. Detergent is available from reception In the reception area you can find out about and book all the trips and activities you have chosen to do; or buy that elusive, special souvenir from our unique range of shells and hand carved local tribal art, or a tee shirt, hat or sarong There is a super market next door to the Resort, which makes provision shopping very easy and convenient Several local restaurants provide delivery and charge back service COMPUTOR USERS The Nautilus Resort caters for corporate clients as well as holiday makers and we now are one of the first motels in Northland to offer the latest in wireless technology for your lap tops.
