Tipi and Breakfast

The tipi provides an opportunity to be present in “nature at its finest” and to fully partake in the magic of the Dragoon Mountains at Cochise Stronghold. A few minutes walk from the main guest house, in a secluded grove of manzanita, juniper and oak trees, the tipi offers comfort and luxury for a “wilderness experience par excellence”.
    The tipi appeals to...
  • urbanites with a taste for adventure
  • wilderness enthusiasts
  • rock climbers and hikers
  • romantic couples
  • individuals seeking a solitary and peaceful
  • nature retreat
  • families
The tipi is popular because it is so uniquely western while comfortable.

Comfort:

The tipi is a traditional structure, 20 feet in diameter, made of the finest quality canvas and supported by lodgepole pine. It comfortably sleeps four people with a full size double bed (4” quality foam mattress) and two deluxe single beds.

In the center of the tipi is a Franklin wood stove. Many a night in every season has been enjoyed in total comfort with a toasty fire.

Children:

Children adore the tipi, but young children can stay only if attended by a responsible adult at all times. Children must be over the age of 8 to stay.

What To Bring:

Flashlights, sleeping bags if you have them, coolers, water bottles, camping gear, field guides...

Cooking:

Just outside the tipi is a beautiful firepit for your enjoyment and campfire cooking. A Coleman stove, a full set of camping cookware and large cooler chests, are available upon request. However, as we are a wilderness location food is not allowed inside the tipi. We wish to avoid any potential problems with insects, skunks, ringtail cats and mice. An outdoor cook station can easily be set up.

Shower & Bathroom:

We have just installed a brand new deluxe bathroom (shower, vanity and flush toilet) in our laundry shed.

This is just a one minute walk from the tipi. There is also a solar shower next to the hot tub and a water hose just outside the tipi door.

The hot tub is available to tipi guests, when not in use by other B&B guests. Showers are required of everyone prior to use.

Rent The Ranch

We offer beautiful open outdoor settings, scenic porches, a comfortable house with a well designed kitchen and an outrageously beautiful, historic setting. Tent pavilions have been set up the grounds to shelter catered outdoor dining events.

The stillness and quiet is ideal for retreats and gatherings with focused intent. Video and photographic opportunities abound.

For those who love and appreciate the wilderness, imagine beginning your new life together in a ceremony here amongst the oak and juniper trees with towering sculpted granite boulders as your backdrop. It’s a natural! Dine under the stars, then dance around a blazing fire, under delicately lit manzanita and oak trees. Your wedding here will be an unforgettable event.

Try something different for your next business meeting or conference – plug in outdoors on a shaded porch and jump start creativity. Your group will enjoy team-building activities, break-out sessions walking on the mountain trails, clearing and invigorating minds and bodies. Enjoy brunch, picnic lunches, BBQ or a sit-down dinner set in our exquisite evergreen forest habitat.

Once you’ve seen the beauty of Cochise Stronghold, A Canyon Nature Retreat, you’ll know why it’s a “natural” for social, inspiration, educational and business events.

We recommend planning early, the entire facility is sometimes only available months in advance.
