Welcome to the Silver Maple Campground Website. We are a family owned Campground ran by a four generation English family in the town of Nairn Centre, Ontario, Canada. Come to Silver Maple to find a 200 acre mixture of smooth lawn, mature trees and untouched raw wilderness. Not to mention a beautifully groomed sandy beach tapering slowly into the 5 mile long Wabagishik Lake. The campground, originally set-up in 1953, is nestled in a valley sheltered from wind yet bathed in sun all year round, with facilities for tent's, RV's, trailers and day vistors.

Family's can enjoy watching their children paddle in the crystal clear waters whist sitting around their fire pit, fishermen and boaters can launch their boats at eithier one of our two boat launches and spend the day on the lake which connects into both the French and Spanish River systems returning for lunch or overnight and leaving their boat moored in our marina. For wildlife and walking enthusiasts a trail from the campground leads to 100 acres of untouched woodland bordering on another 1000 acres of crownland with beautiful scenery and vista views of the lake. Take a stroll in the summer and pick your own blueberrys and raspberrys. A 20 minute hike away from the main camping field unveils a 10 acre private lake fished only by the residents of the campground, sit and watch the deer feeding by the lake in such an idyllic setting completly unspoiled by the modern era. With everything you wish for close to hand take the time to enjoy life as nature intended!

We have a slowly tapering swimming area sandy beach safe for kids of all ages. providing all the necessities you need whilst out camping. Tenting sites overlook the 5 km long Wabagishik lake which is renown for it's pickerel and bass.

Being just 15 minutes from the Town of Espanola and 40 Minutes from Sudbury and the Manitoulin Islands we are ideally situated for local attractions such as golf courses, Science North and more ...

These are just some of the comments made by campers about Wabagishik Lake. Fishermen come from far and wide to try their luck at catching fish such as Catfish, Pickerel/Walleye, the great Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass and many, many more. Wabagishik Lake is around 5 miles long and we sit at the top of the lake. The fishing benefits from the feeds from the Vermillion River system as well as the French and Spanish River systems. Local fishing regulations can be found here Take out the boat and spend an enjoyable day catching the best that nature has to offer, come Largemouth Bass Largemouth Bass Northern Pike Largemouth Bass Pickerel/Walleye back and have supper and enjoy the pickerel or pike which you Northern Pike caught only hours before!! For those who choose not to go out in a boat sit back on the shore and cast in a line and enjoy reeling in fish such as Pike and Catfish. Catfish Catfish Mountain Lake For the Perch fans take a walk up to our Mountain Lake, the 10 minute hike yields a totally private lake used only by the residents of the campground!! Fishing Licences and Bait are availble near by so nothing should stop you from enjoying your fishing get-away!!
