Signal Hill National Historic Site of Canada, St John's, Newfoundland Photos
Signal Hill was the reception point of the first transatlantic wireless signal by Guglielmo Marconi in 1901, as well as the site of harbour defences for St. John's from the 18th century to the Second World War.
This area is well known for fog and rain. We were lucky to get and hour or two before it started to rain again. Signal Hill is one of the highest point in the area so the view is spectacular. There are lots of hiking trail that we would have like to go on. It was interesting to here the retailers prospective on weather. She said it was hot and humid and could use a thunder storm to cool things down. The temperature was 24 Celsius. We did not find it that hot. There is a museum that we did not do through and down the hill is the Geo Centre.
